this week we have been focusing and learning about how a pa system works and how to use it when having a performance. yesterday we made a table showing what is needed for a pa system, however it was split into two of what the front of house can hear and what the backline can hear. Today we watched 4 performers perform their songs, the people that did not perform, like me, helped set up the instruments and learned how to set up a pa system, however i found this quite hard and did not do much to do with this, but i wish i did because i don’t know much about the technical side of music. this week has been a lot harder than i thought because i did not know how much tech there was with putting on a performance and how complicated the tech really is. however i have learnt how to do this for next time there is a performance or if i’m doing a performance myself. i have also learnt that by working with others in the group that aren’t performing, the set up will be done a lot quicker and easier than if the band or other performers were doing it by themselves. when watching one performance we noticed that Ellie’s mic had reverb which made the performance sound a lot better than if it did not have reverb.
the instruments were set up by putting them through a DI box and then that would then be put into the mixer. after this the mics were also put through the mixer desk, the monitor was put in front of the performers so they could hear themselves performing and us, the audience, would listen through the front of house speakers which were 2 power speakers which were placed in front of the band.
Wednesday 9th January 2019
In todays lesson we are learning to make 5 tracks on logic, however we have to include other tracks from other songs into it i do not quite understand this as i came in late and have not not a keyboard attached to my computer so i do not really know how to use this and make 5 tracks without a keyboard or instrument.
Thursday 10th January 2019
This morning the class made a Collum of what is needed to make our EP, we made a lift of things that we would have to have in order to make the EP successful, these things were:
Passion
Problem solving
Compose
Self confidence/doubt
Critical analysis
Thick skin
Then after this we then had to finish all work that had not been completed yet. Such as our starting point and things that needed to be completed on logic, I am really struggling with this as I still do not get how to use logic and do not think that I will as I’m not very technical, I rather make music with instruments personally, I do not know how to do this as I haven’t been shown what I actually need to write about, so I am getting very stressed about it.
Friday 18th January 2018
On Tuesday, the start of this week, we worked on getting a-lot of our theory work done. we had to start our music video powerpoints which had to be done by today. After this me, Teagan and Millie went into practical and started practising a new song for our trio that we are working on, we practised a new song called ‘ open arms’ by a band called ‘PRETTYMUCH’. This is a good song because it has a lot of harmonies and backing vocals so we could really experiment with how we are going to sing it, this song also starts of accapella which we think was really nice, it also showed that we were harmonising together very well.
Today first thing this morning we had to create menus on our website for our new project which is the Live Lounge performance, this is so when our tutors look at our work for this project, it is easy to find rather than looking all through the website, so we divided it into different sections with the different tasks.

This week we have preparing for our Live lounge performance. Me, Teag and Millie were all very nervous before performing Teags original song “ a broken heart that keeps on beating” but once we went through it once I wasn’t as nervous.
Friday 8th March 2019
It has been a couple of weeks since our live lounge performance. after the performance we have been creating a music video for our original songs that we performed at the live lounge. since this we have made storyboards describing what we want in our music video and on Tuesday this week we went to Teignmouth to video some shots that we could include into it, we got shots at Teignmouth pier, Shaldon gardens and across the beach, this turned out rally Successful because we managed to get a few shots that we can use in our music video, we also have some good shots from the live lounge so we were thinking that we combine shots from both to make the music video look a little better. i plan on also getting some other good shots while i am not in college times and then show Teag and Millie my suggestions and see if they should be used.
